Utter cuteness...

So, I  just had to share the following pictures of my little man...

He loves shoes. Which we keep in the big basket behind him. Anytime we are going somewhere he goes to the basket and picks out his shoes. If he picks out flip flops and I want him to wear a different pair, he gets mad!! Most days he wears what he wants and not what I want him too. Oh well, it's just shoes!! Lately he's been getting his Daddy's shoes and wearing them. I was finally able to get a good picture of him in his Daddy's boots yesterday. He's too stinkin' cute!!

Another thing he likes to do lately is play in the muffler of our truck. I know this is very scary, as the muffler can be very hot. Praise the Lord, he hasn't gotten hold of a hot muffler yet. Even though, the first time he does it will be his last time, I'm sure. As you can see he gets soot everywhere. What can I say, he's all boy for sure!!

Until next time...

Hot Season has begun...

Well, things are starting to warm up rather nicely around here!! Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 102!! The worst part is hot season hasn't really gotten into full swing yet!! Oh, I don't look forward to the days of 110-120!! Praise God we have an ac unit in our bedroom that we can turn on and chill in the coolness!!  Since things have been warming up so well, I decided to get Zeke's swimming pool out. His Nana and his Mimi sent him two last year!! I'm tempted to get the other one out and fill it up for myself!! So, with cool water in the pool and his bath toys, Zeke could play for hours!! He so enjoys splashing around and playing in the water. I enjoying sitting there with my feet in the water and a good book in my hand!! Gotta beat the heat somehow!! :~) Hope you enjoy these pics:

Tonight, we were relaxing in the comfort of our air conditioned bedroom and Zeke was being silly. I snapped these few pictures of him and his Daddy:

Whew, what a month!

Well, I cannot believe that February is over! It was a busy, busy month for us. We had 4 volunteer teams during the month of February. Coupled with sickness that just seemed to run rampant in our house. Despite all the sickness we were able to spend some time with 3 of our 4 volunteer teams out in their villages. It was a great time and we really enjoyed it. Praise the Lord that each team that came saw new people come to faith in Christ!! Please pray for these new believers as they learn to grow in their walk with the Lord. Praise the Lord also that for the most part we are healed and feeling better. Zeke is still battling the nasty cough that made it's way through our entire house. Pray he'll feel better soon!

March is upon us and I can't believe how fast our time is flying. Yesterday we were able to go out to our village, D-village. We didn't get a chance to go to D-village in February because of the volunteer teams and the sickness. Our villagers are doing well, it was good to see them again. Zeke truly loves being in the village. Even though, keeping up with him in the village is becoming more and more difficult with each trip. He wants to explore and play with the kids. We Praise God that he is so easy going in the village and that he does so well!! We had an "only in Africa" moment this morning in the village that I will share with you...First a little bit about our hut... there's a wooden door on the front of the hut but when we are in the village we just leave it open. We do have a long curtain that covers the doorway when the wooden door is open. This is to thwart any sheep, donkey's, or chicken that may want to take up residence in our hut. Well, this morning the curtain didn't help. Zeke and I went into the hut to change his diaper and a chicken had bedded down into Arnett's sleeping bag. I moved the sleeping bag onto Arnett's bed (the chicken was on the part that was laying on the floor) and shooed her out. A little while later I came back to the hut to pack our things up so we could head back into town and the chicken was back!! This time, she was bedded down on the sleeping bag which was on top of Arnett's bed. I told Arnett to come look at his new friend. He said, "You better get that thing out of here, she'll lay an egg and won't ever leave." My response, "REALLY??"  I had no clue, I didn't grow up around chickens like he did!! So, I go move the sleeping bag and it was already too late. Mama chicken had already laid her egg and was keeping it warm!! We shooed her out and gave the egg to her owner. It was definitely an, "only in Africa" moment!

So, this month we only have 1 volunteer team coming. However, Arnett is busy helping different teams with different projects or repairs they have going on in their villages. We hope to spend a lot more time in D-village this month as well.

Praises:

  1. New brother's and sister's in Christ.
  2. We're on the mends, health wise.
  3. Enjoying the work that we've been called to. (not something we can say every month.)
  4. Things that make us laugh.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Strength to do what God has called us to do. Also, joy in completing the task.
  2. Our health.
  3. Wisdom in knowing how to reach those around us.

Thank you for your prayers. Until next time...
